It took around 2 hours by shuttle bus from Hua Lien downtown to the “Butterfly Valley resort” which could be the most expensive on the room rate in this area.Since it is named “Butterfly Valley resort”, I couldn’t help to find where the butterflies are. Probably, we arrived in a wrong season. I just found few butterflies in the bush of front door, the path to our room and in the insects’ hall. 
Actually, I concerned the room most.
Service person brought to our room by the golf cart. Then I found our room is just the half of a house what we saw, not a whole house. Compared to Bali island’s villa, the room here is much smaller .
The decoration is quite modern. But I think the tiny bed, tiny bar, tiny sofa, and tiny pool and toilet only can fit for 2 people in the room. However, what we paid was for 4 people. Although the room is new, hotel is careless on some details. For example, the bathroom is totally closed with 4 high glass walls. There are no vacuum fans in the bathroom. I really don’t know should I keep the door open or not. I think that’s one reason that I didn’t traveling in Taiwan. Even I picked up a very expensive hotel; there was always something to make me dissatisfied with.
Resorts have several theme parks, like botanic garden, insects’ hall…etc. It took around one hour walk to finish visiting those parks. I think the most attractive place about this resort is those trails around resort. We picked up one trail which is not easy to finish all, since this trail is all up-hill walking. It was true. We just walked around the half distance on the map that hotel gave us, and then we decided to go back. From the hill to look down was really comfortable. The whole “East Rift Valley” was in front of me. At the same time, one thought jumped out to spoil my mood, because I saw many betel nuts tree. Those betel nuts tree really damage the soil and water conservation. But what if government doesn’t allow people to plant betel nuts tree, how do those people live on?
After finishing walking the trails, I felt uncomfortable. I had headache again. What I can do was to lie on the bed. It was pity that I didn’t have time to enjoy that outdoor hot springs. But my sweet sisters went to enjoy it and told me that there were many pools in different temperatures and functions. All people have to wear swimming suit to go to that outdoor hot springs pools.
The next day, it rained heavily. We couldn’t explore other hiking trials around the hotel. In stead, we took the hot spring shower in the bath tub made by guanyi stone. Each of us also shot some naked pictures in the bath tub.
I felt most satisfied about the food in this resort. No matter dinner or breakfast, there were lots of delicious dishes using the seasonal local ingredients. Because of food, I felt the worthy a little bit to live here.
